Maria V. Schram serves as Senior Consultant at Meitler. Maria brings with her over 34 years of experience working at all levels of Catholic education. She has been a middle and high school teacher, academic dean, and for the past 20 years has served as an elementary and high school principal. In addition, Maria has served on and chaired numerous community, education, and diocesan committees.
Maria believes that the most valuable part of her previous work experience is not a singular event, but rather the wide variety of challenges, solutions, and philosophies that came from working in elementary and secondary settings, within both urban and suburban contexts. Having worked in the trenches in a variety of schools gave her the confidence to face new tasks with a strategic vision. Notably, Maria’s hard work and dedication were evident in successfully leading a complete high school turnaround in five short years.
Under Maria’s leadership, her schools have been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally. These distinctions include STEM Forward’s STEMMY award, Project Lead the Way School of Distinction, Archdiocese Exemplary Awards in Curriculum and Instruction, Mission and Catholic Identity, Marketing, Advancement and Recruitment, and for her vision and creation of Faith in Our Families, a Catholic faith initiative to involve families in the life of their parish. Maria presented on School Improvement Planning at the AdvancED State Conference. Most recently, Maria was named a 2019 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Leadership Award recipient.
Maria and her husband of 33 years have two sons. Maria enjoys time with family, traveling, golfing, and their time in Door County, Wisconsin.
